Salem Foundation

The Salem Foundation was established in 1983 to support and promote the charitable, educational and religious ministries of Salem Lutheran Church.  The Foundation is a permanent endowment fund that spends the interest earned on the principal which now stands at  over $1.4 million.

The Foundation is governed by the Salem Foundation Board which is responsible for making policy, making investment decisions, providing gift counseling, setting an annual budget for dispersing Foundation interest earnings, and communicating Foundation goals to the congregation and the community.

In 2016 the Foundation disbursed $56,800.  Some of the recipients of 2017 Salem Foundation Funding are:  Scholarships for high school seniors attending post-secondary schooling; support of local help agencies like the Salvation Army, Crisis Nursery, Anna Marie’s Shelter, Habitat for Humanity, BBBS, and Place of Hope Ministries; support of an orphanage in Orongo, Kenya, and much much more!.
