Salem Lutheran Church Ministries

Salem's missions impact the St. Cloud community, the country and the world. We invite you to become involved in our missions and ministry, no matter where you are on your faith journey.

Santa Lucia Festival of Lights

The Santa Lucia Festival of Lights is a beloved annual event that celebrates Scandinavian heritage with beautiful music, traditional costumes and a festive atmosphere. The festival takes place the second Sunday of December.

Fare For All

Everyone is invited to our monthly pop-up discount grocery story. Hosted by The Food Group, Fare For All provides frozen meat and fresh produce and accepts EBT, credit, debit or cash. Open to all, no income or residency requirements.

Youth Group and Confirmation

Tweens and teens thrive with Salem's confirmation classes (for seventh grade and up) and youth group (grades 9-12). Youth have the opportunity to ask questions, learn, work together and serve in an affirmative environment.

Awesome Beyond Age 55 (ABA55)

ABA55 hosts events planned by and for seniors for support, fun and connection. Monthly events plus the opportunity to participate in Salem's ministries keeps seniors engaged and active.

Music

Salem values high-quality music of all types. Worship at Salem may feature music from our pipe organ, Sanctuary Choir, Praise Team, handbell choir or soloist.

Children & Families

We love kids and their adults! We prioritize little ones with Sunday school, a weekly children's sermon, and a prayground so kids can worship with their parents. Children are always invited to events at Salem.

LuMin + Young Adult Ministries

We partner with the Lutheran ministry of Saint Cloud State to hold monthly worship, including themes like Worship & Waffles, Pride Worship, Blessing of the Bicycles ... and more.

Salem Foundation

The Salem Foundation was established in 1983 to support and promote the charitable, educational and religious ministries of Salem Lutheran Church. The Foundation is a permanent endowment fund that spends a portion of earnings to support our mission. The Foundation awards grants and scholarships annually.

Ministering to St. Cloud's East End and Beyond

Salem believes in the ELCA motto of "God's Work, Our Hands." Our ministries reach our neighbors in our community, our country and our world. Some of the ways we serve our community include:

  • Assembling school kits and quilts for Lutheran World Relief
  • Rolling bandages for Global Health Ministries
  • Picking up trash and raking leaves in our neighborhood
  • Holding blood drives
  • Working with Orongo Widows and Orphans
  • Partnering with local organizations like Lincoln Center, Feeding Area Children Together (FACT), Terebinth Refuge, neighborhood schools, and Lutheran Social Services Refugee Services to provide money, supplies and helping hands
  • Working with other churches on local issues like the Ramadan Date Project, housing, and infrastructure
