giving glory to god

Music at Salem

One of the great traditions at Salem is the music that is shared to the glory of God.  We welcome and encourage you to get involved and join us in our music ministry. Children through adults have the opportunity to get involved singing in choirs, playing instruments, and ringing handbells. These musical involvements enhance the messages of worship, reinforce the teachings of Jesus, and help everyone to get involved with our common mission.

Please share your gifts with our worshipping community by singing or playing with us.

Sanctuary Choir

The Sanctuary Choir is made up of individuals who sing traditional 4-part harmony choral music and provide musical leadership at the 8:30 a.m. worship service. This choir sings two or three Sundays a month September through May, and at special holiday worship services. Rehearsals are held on Wednesdays from 6:00-7:15 p.m. in the sanctuary. The Sanctuary Choir is directed by Josh Smith, who always welcomes new singers.  If interested in joining or for more information, you can contact him at: josh@salemstcloud.org.

Praise Team

The Praise Team offers a more contemporary choral experience, while still singing in SAB or SATB arrangements. Our team includes singers, guitar players, string and percussion players, and keyboard. This group leads 10:30 a.m. Sunday worship all year long and welcomes new voices and musicians to the music ministry. The Praise Team rehearsals are on Wednesdays from 7:30-8:45 p.m.  To get involved contact Josh Smith at josh@salemstcloud.org.  Click on the video below to hear the Praise Team in action.

Handbells

Handbells are a beautiful contributor to our music ministry at Salem. Our handbell choir, Hallelujah Handbells, is always welcoming to new members.  Bell rehearsals are on Wednesdays from 5:30-6:30 p.m. in the bell room downstairs. If you are interested in ringing bells or for more information, please contact the director, Lori Potter at ljpotterrn@yahoo.com

The Salem Handbell choirs are members of the Handbell Musicians or America, AGEHR, Inc. We are dedicated to advancing the musical art of handbell and handchime ringing through education, community, and communication. The Guild's motto is "Uniting People Through a Musical Art".
